Created by the Mississippi Legislature in 1985, this program provides personal care services to individuals who have severe disabilities and are not eligible to receive these services through other sources. Participants cannot be eligible to receive duplicate services under any other program. By receiving these services, an individual is able to live at home instead of a nursing facility.
To qualify for this program, individuals must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must have a severe physical or mental impairment that causes them to need assistance with their activities of daily living
- Must not be eligible to receive duplicate services under any other program.
Services provided through this program include:
- Case Management – A rehabilitation counselor to help the individual coordinate services and identify resources.
- Attendant Care – An individual of the participant’s choosing to assist them with their activities of daily living.
